EventfulLongWeekend

it was his birthday on Saturday! The programme was planned way in advance...everything went quite well...other than some short arguments we had...but we have cleared them up...Will elaborate later...let me start with Thursday...
had teambuilding at East Coast...and the activity was to build sandcastles!!! you must be thinking, "WHAT? Build sandcastles in the air is it?" Well, the sandcastle place is beside the food centre...if you happen to pass by on weekends between 3.30pm - 7pm, you can try your hands at building for free! it's really an interesting thing to do for teambuilding...and yes, we did derive learning points from the whole activity...the 3-4 hrs in the sun was well worth it as it was really an experience...there were proper tools and proper instructors...though at some point in time, i felt like a builder...cos the tools that we use are actually used by builders... =) but it was GREAT! i had loads of fun! and a good laugh too during the presentations (2nd part of the day)...

picture of the sandcastle my team built =) we won some team award together with another team...enjoyed building with my team...a great and co-operative bunch!

teambuilding ended at about 4.45pm...took the bus back to office to send out some emails since i won't be in office on fri...afterwhich, headed to sushi tei for dinner with my collegues...good food and good company...collected his present and cake as well =) went home to finish the final touches of his gift (plus card)...

The day started with blowing out the candles...the cake was recommended by my collegues...and i have been eyeing on it for a very long time...can't wait to sink my teeth into it! (we only ate it at abt 11 plus at night at his place...it's DAMN good...managed to pack some back...gonna eat it for dessert later!)

Then off we went for breakfast at old town at big splash! wanted to eat BK for bfast but after much thought, told him we shld have a light bfast since lunch was scheduled to be at 1.30pm...but when we reached there...we couldn't help but order 2 bowls of maggie noodles...hahaha think we were jus hungry =) we also shared kaya toast and had a cup of coffee each...

the texture of the bread was different...quite yummy...

he had iced coffee (gao)...it was really GAO...at first i thought wat's gao (tall in chinese)...then i realise it's in hokkien...which meant thick coffee...silly me...

i had a normal cup...rather sweet...but overall taste was not bad...different from toast box and ya kun...

After bfast, we sat by the beach and relax for awhile...gave him the presents...he was touched...i really love the album!

thank God for the Great weather!

Next, we headed to town to walk around...parked at plaza sing...quite cheap...we only paid 7.35! we parked from 12.30p - 9.30pm...quite cheap for town yah...fortunately, our bfast sort of digested by then...we weren't super hungry...hence, we shared a seafood platter which comes with garden salad and 2 soups...we added passion fruit! our fave drink and fish and co...

it was more walking after lunch...wanted to catch a movie but think there was not enough time...headed to city hall since the next activity was near that area...we decided not to drive since traffic would be crazy in the evening...it was a good choice made =) the GSS was on but i didn't buy anything...went coach to see see look look...the sales person wasn't really friendly...anyway, we headed to singapore flyer on foot after a cup of milo (and a short argument)...he was quite surprised we were going there...told him that i planned for that cos he sort of mentioned he wanted to go there to take a look sometime back...so i booked the tickets about a week ago (kiasu =P)

In the cabin...

The view from the highest point on the singapore flyer...

Well, the ride wasn't THAT fantastic...i would say that it's an experience =) after that we went back to town as dinner was at La Strada (shaw centre)...heard from jas that the carbonara was their signature dish...i thought it's super creamy (the usual carbonara), hence didn't order that...BUT it was far from creamy! it was fantastic! the egg was cooked to perfection...and i'm not someone who likes bacon...but the bacon strips were DELICIOUS! i had seafood marinara...equally yummy...but it was super filling...check out the amount of seafood...

money well spent...we had soup before that...he had minestrone...and i had chicken broth...i though those little things were flour...but they were mini wantons...it was really tasty!

Wrapped up the meal with a tiramisu...fantastic...good place with good ambience and service...nice...Afterwhich we headed back to my place to collect the cake and back to his house...hope you had a memorable bday...

Suppose to have BK bfast at causeway point on sat...but suggested postponing it to another time...since we had so much food the day before...so had noodles at his house downstairs and headed to expo to check out the robinsons sale and the foodfare...didn't buy anything from the robinsons sale...but we bought finger food at the foodfare...that settled our stomachs for lunch... =)

had milo from BK and passed time by calling up some travel agencies to check out their bintan packages...think we are more or less set on that place in end Jul...i can't wait! was telling him maybe we shld go HK end of the year...really miss the dim sum and the wanton mee!!!!!!! i dun mind penang or KL either...haha jus wanna have another short holiday!!!

anyway, we planned to meet our hall mates at serangoon gardens at abt 5.30pm...reached there on time...the rest came at abt 6pm...we shared stingray, sotong and kangkong...shared hokkien noodles with b as well...nothing beats washing down the food with sugarcane drink =) we chilled at coffee bean after that...and left at abt 8.45pm...after that me and b stayed by the pool before heading home...

today has been a slack day for me...jus got back from my run...great weather to exercise...enough of rest for the week...hope i'm geared up for the new week! can't wait for apprentice tonight =)
